A Wall and Four Generations of Artists
Colours, forms, textures and light and shade have held them in their thrall for decades. All strive to create and express in their own individualistic way. Yet one unique wall at a unique place was the location of a rare collaboration between teachers and students across four generations.

The senior most artist Prof. V.M. Sholapurkar visited Native Place in 2004 and charmed by the ambience felt the urge to add his touch to the place. He felt the large wall at the entrance begged to become a canvas that could capture the essence of Native Place and Nirvana Adventures.

The sheer dimensions of the wall-canvas demanded more than one pair of hands working on it. He called upon his favourite students of old to share his vision and use their talent and younger hands to create a work of art even as they gloried in a reunion of sorts.
Thus Kashinath Salve and Arvind Hate, both students of Prof. Sholapurkar but from different generations (Hate being a student of Prof. Salve too) arrived at Native Place. Prof. Salve brought along three of his current students too, which made up the esoteric team that took on the wall at Native Place.

The concept for the mural fell into place as soon as the younger artists were taken to the paragliding site at Shelar and given tandem rides by Yogi.
The experience of free flight and the change of perspective experienced by the team were transferred to wall in a torrent of colours and shapes while still fresh on their minds.

This union of gurus and shishyas and their heartfelt joy about the Native Place Nirvana experience resulted in a three day festival of colours that greets every visitor to Native Place.
